Who said Social Media isn’t newsworthy

A blog by Philip Ellis

A report issued yesterday by the Daily Telegraph and backed by the BBC, has revealed that 43% of Britons between the ages of 16 and 24 now receive their news through Social Media rather than traditional methods.

The very first Reuters Institute Digital Report, found that Facebook is the most important network for news while Google+ and LinkedIn contribute little or nothing. The report was aimed at charting the rise in consumption of news in the digital age, but what we found odd was the small contribution from Twitter at just 23% in regard to news sharing.

These figures should not come as too much of a shock, what with Social Media being at the forefront when it comes to speed of delivery.
How do you get most of your news?
